This argument by Dershowitz infuriated me. Especially when he accused the media of blowing some of his statements out of proportion and proposed that they should rather attack him on some of the arguments he made, like this one^.

Abraham Lincoln held this country together during a period of time that would leave most nations in ruin. It was a war that ultimately freed Americans from other Americans, and kept this great nation united. Are we really comparing THAT PRESIDENT'S decisions with THIS PRESIDENT'S? THIS President's NON-WARTIME decisions?

My plea to the jury: please consider that context matters.
